Business Tendency Surveys

Business tendency surveys provide valuable information about current and future business developments in the Swiss economy, individual sectors and different regions. The KOF polls a total of over 11,000 companies. The results of the surveys and changes to such surveys reveal cyclical bottlenecks or excess capacities in particular. The expectations and plans of the companies surveyed play an important role in decision-making and are also potentially important sources of information. Structual Surveys

Data are collected regularly with the KOF corporate panel on the innovative activites (every third year) and investment plans (annually) of Swiss companies. In addition, data on various aspects of the stuctural change in the Swiss economy are collected sporadically (approx. once a year). Until now such data has focused on the use of information and communications technologies, on organisational change in the companies surveyed, on workforce skills, on the internationalisation of the Swiss economy as well as on company start-ups. more...
