The KOF presents itself

The KOF sees itself as a bridge builder between research and society and as an exchange platform for economists, and advances its future-oriented research through national and international cooperation. The Institute fulfils so-called national tasks that have been assigned to it by the federal government. In this way, it always keeps its finger on the pulse of the economy.

The fundament of his scientific work is formed by business surveys of Swiss companies. They are the basis for many research projects and indispensable for economic forecasts. However, the institute's work has long since gone far beyond business cycle research. KOF employees also deal with questions of innovation, internationalisation and governmental framework conditions.
