KOF Swiss Energy Technology Survey
The Swiss Energy Technology Survey (SETS) of the KOF is an irregular survey on the development and use of environmentally friendly energy technologies in Switzerland. It was conducted in 2009 on behalf of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) and in 2015 as part of the National Research Program "Managing Energy Consumption" (NRP 71) on behalf of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
The KOF SETS is based on the KOF Enterprise Panel (KEP).
The questionnaire extends the core questions of the external page Community Innovation Survey (CIS) of the European Union with a detailed section on energy technologies. On the one hand, this part contains questions on the use of and investment in certain energy-saving technologies and on environmentally friendly technologies for electricity and heat generation. On the other hand, it contains questions on the development of, R&D expenditure in, CO2 reductions achieved from and sales of these technologies. It also contains questions on motives, obstacles and the promotion from these technologies.
