Eurozone Economic Outlook

The Eurozone Economic Outlook (EZEO) is a joint project of the Italian Bureau of Statistics (external pageISTAT), the German external pageifo Institute at Munich, and the KOF Swiss Economic Institute. The KOF became a member of the EZEO group in September 2017; it replaces the French Bureau of Statistics (INSEE) which has been a collaborator since the foundation of the EZEO in 2004.

The EZEO produces a joint forecast for real gross domestic product, consumption of private households, gross fixed capital formation (investment), industrial production and the inflation rate in the euro zone for the current and the two following quarters.

The estimates and forecasts are based on a large set of leading indicators and projection methods. The EZEO is published at the end of each quarter, about two weeks after the first release of GDP and its main aggregates by Eurostat.
